Louise McCabe and Lucy Rhoades founded Guilty Pleasures in 2017 as a cabaret and burlesque festival in Byron Bay's beautiful vintage neighbour, Brunswick Heads. The weekend event showcased an amazing array of artists from all around Australia, in conjunction with the world-famous Brunswick Picture House.
In 2018, Guilty Pleasures rebranded to Guilty Pleasures Shows, presenting its unique hybrid of theatre, music and cabaret.
Guilty Pleasure's dark cabaret The Secret Parlour was a sell-out success, while our cabaret piece Who Killed Lulu Delacour? was finalist in Queensland's Short and Sweet Festival.
Now based in Adelaide, Guilty Pleasures Shows premiered the hour-long version of our award-winning rock'n'roll comedy The Runner Up by Louise McCabe at The Adelaide Fringe in 2019 and 2020. The show had a great response from audience and critics alike.
In 2021, Guilty Pleasures is staging A Tribute to the Music of Kate Bush at one of Adelaide's favourite performance venues, Holden Street Theatres.
